Paragon Spec 6.15 Widebore Machine Lapped Japanese SUS304 Steel Inner Barrel

Paragon has set out to produce the highest quality inner barrels money could buy. We've tested barrels from just about every quality manufacture and finally settled with these SUS304 cold rolled steel barrels from Japan. While the machining of the barrel window, c-clip cuts, and overall barrel concentricity from our Japanese manufacture is top notch, there was still room for improvement for the internal surface to be smoother. In comes barrel lapping. Barrel lapping is a process which not only makes the inside have a mirror like appearance, but also removes all peaks and valleys inside the bore ensuring a completely flat and smooth bore. If you inspect a stock barrel from any major manufacture with a bore scope, you can see that most barrels will have a bit of pitting. These pits are detrimental to the accuracy of your BB. Each barrel has thousands upon thousands of passes before it reaches its final result.

Why widebore?

In our testing, widebore barrels had a noticeably tighter grouping. The theory with widebore is the BB has a much more stable ride inside of the barrel after it leaves the contact patch. The tighter the bore, the more chances you have of the BB striking the inside of the barrel until it stabilizes. The answer to reducing this striking is to increase the bore diameter and thus creating more accurate shots. Voluming these barrels are very important for AEGs. We recommend running full cylinders when possible. If you have a voluming question, please email us and we can give you a recommendation based on your setup.

Each barrel will have a 6mm long hop up window and a deep tapered crown to smooth out exit gasses.
